Hard to imagine a menagerie top that is larger than most all modern day big tops.
Bob,
If my circus history is correct that Hagenbeck-Wallace had the largest menagerie tent ever.
It had 9 center poles and with 8-40 foot middles.
My favorite circus Cole Bros.-Clyde Beatty had an 8 pole tent in 1937 only.
Yes Bob, it is hard to believe the way they were and moved every day.
Who ever took those pictures of Clyde Beatty did a great job as that is some sharp, clear and well exposed photos.
If I had to make a guess I would think it was Jim Cole taking them back then.
Harry
