The unloading took place across the street from Maitland field, on the property of the C&NW RR. The track along the poplars had once held ugly and decrepit bad order cars, set aside by the railroad. The area scintillated when the circus train was spotted. Glorious skies and balmy weather, with occasional crisp breezes off the lake to keep it comfortable.
