Parker & Watts Circus 1938-39 #8

Jimmy Conners and "Ena".
Three elephants were included with the purchase of the show "Ena", "Mona" and "Mabel". Two more were leased from W.C. Richards, "Maxine" and a punk named "Thelma" that did an outstanding single number including a tricycle.

This is my Father in his heyday and is now deceased and I was happy to see this picture. While we were kids on the road with Carson and Barnes among many other tent shows we often heard about Mabel the elephant so I am glad to see a picture of her finally after all these years. I have a huge collection of old circus Photos from Al G Barnes show to Sells and Floto and many many more from my family's early days from 1907 to 1965 if anyone is interested in them. My Grandmother did iron jaw and wire acts and my great Grandfather had a wagon show and I have pictures of all that as well.
