I was going through some old CFA photos on their web-site and
> on page 68 there were two photos of RBBB Gold Train - Mont-Carlo Unit. The pictures were dated 1979. Could you tell me about this show. What type of show was it, how long did it last?? Anything you can share would be appreciated.
> Thanks, Buddy Olivier

Two of these handsome fellas feature in an exhibition called The Circus Diaries at the Victorian Arts Centre (Melbourne, Australia). I am curating this exhibition with photographer Cal MacKinnon. Robert Perry and his family are featured. As is Doug Ashton and his family, and two other members of the Bullens clan. The exhibition comes out of a larger oral history project I am undertaking with trad circus folk in Australia. Find details about the exhibtiion and the project on the Arts Centre website - www.theartscentre.net.au

Different Doug Ashton
I've worked with them both
I'm not exactly sure of their kinship but I do know they are fairly closely related
The Doug Ashton that clowned in America is quite a bit younger than the Austrailian circus owner
When I toured with Ashtons it was Ashton Circus It looks like it was changed to Joe Ashton Circus
I toured with them 365 days

Mr Perry,
Are you the gentleman who was working the animals on the Sole Bros. Circus in the 1990s
I remember a lion act an elephant and a very nice appaloosa liberty act
I was visiting with a fellow yank that did the low wire and Juggling
I believe his name is Ron Perry
