From Jim Alexander

Just heard that Clara, the last of the Anheuser-Busch elephants that came to the St. Louis Zoo in 1956, was euthanised yesterday. She was 54. Among other tricks, she did a one-foot stand. Floyd Smith went out to train the group in the fall of 55 in California at Louis Goebel's. The act debuted on the Lion Arena stage in early summer of 1956.

Recently received some postcards of the 1949 shows from Gloria Wilkinson. As soon as Kathy can explain how to scan them I'll send them along.

Its being reported that if "CLARA" was moved to Tenn she would be healthy and happy. If it isn't done in Tenn and carol buckley did not do it, it is not done right. OPULEEZE give me a break. "CLARA" should have been allowed to bite carol buckleys tail off instead of "DONNA's" Don't comment that buckley does not have a tail. That could be her problem. Send in the real person to do the job. He will need extra strong "SMOOTHEs",a strong stomach, and a blindfold.
