This view was one of a series taken at Chester, England in 1898. The tableau cage in the foreground no longer exists. A replica of the one poking out to the right is at Baraboo. Disney pretty much destroyed the original. The one bearing the "Barnum, Bailey & Hutchinson" cartouche may have been the one favored by your father. Thayer wrote an extensive history of these vehicles in bandwagon a while back.
