PETA Trial

I have received several lenghty Press Releases on the PETA Trial this morning, which I am sure will be covered in full on Circus Vern.
In short, the Judge folded like a cheap suitcase.

While it would have been great to see felony convictions in the case, this is still going to be a victory. PETA dragged things out and refused to plea bargain accepting misdomeanor charges before trial. Now they will probably get them anyway. And they've opened the Pandora's box when it comes to a drugs usage investigation by the Feds. In terms of "spin" it's still accurate to say that two PETA employees were charges with multiple felony counts of animal cruelty in 2005; and it's likely that by next week it can be said that at least one PETA employee was convicted by a jury of charges associated with animal cruelty. PETA has come away with a black eye, and if show owners are willing to spend some money on pamphlets and and graphics, teh photos and reports from the trial make for far worse and disturbing images than any anti-circus material I've seen from PETA

i'm sure many of you know, all charges in the PETA case were reduced to suspended time for littering. This is the biggest travesty of justice i have seen yet. I cannot believe the jury reached this verdict - murdering animals is only littering when PETA does it but treating animals with kindness is grounds for PETA to unleash its venom and bully the united states like hitler bullyed people in germany. too bad we can't get peta to take on the war on terrorism instead of helping the terrorists by creating unneccasry problems in the united states. i don't know what can be done but something should be. everyone involved knew about the illegal use of drugs to kill these animals and no one has done anything. I don't know how the judge or jury can sleep at night. and before anyone screams liberal judges, north carolina is one of the most conservative states in the country.
