Siebrand Bros. Circus and Carnival #7

This is my mother "Babe" with the brand new Miller-Woodcock elephant act "Anna May", "Fanny" and "Lydia" in 1952 at North Platte, Nebraska Fair.
The circus was situated at the back end of the midway and worked open-air, coralled by empty ride trucks. I was told that there was only one truck devoted entirely to circus paraphanalia and it carried the ring curb, ring lights, etc. and when spotted one side folded down into a stage for the announcer, organist and even several of the ground acts.
My dad said it was a pretty nice, well organized operation and that the Siebrands were very nice people to deal with.Posted by Picasa

I have always admired the way Babe presented the animals she showed. She drew the attention to the animal that was doing all the work. Times and styles have sured changed.

My grandmother Jeanie Siebrand was the sister to Hike and Pete, the Siebrand Brothers. My mother and uncle (her only children) are not passed and I would like to learn more about the Siebrand family. Any information would be appreciated.
