Buckles - - -
These two photos were sent to me by zoo historian John Edwards of London. He is an inveterate collector of zoo and circus animal photos, frequenting the many London area flea markets and book stores looking for old photos and post cards.
He did not know the when, where, or names of the male elephants.
We see in the second one the name "Sells" on the wooden flat. Moreover the flat seems to be painted white which was what Sells Floto did around 1920. I do not think it would be "Sells Bros." nor would it appear to be "Forepaugh-Sells" because the "Sells" name is too close to the left end of the car.
Which male is shown? The one with the flat car behind him does not look like Snyder. In the one showing the bulls approaching the camera there is second tusker behind the first one. What say you?
You might want to put this on your blog.

My guess is the bull is "Floto". In the other photo, "Snyder has a broken right tusk and this elephant does not.
