Endless Long Mount

After looking thru Mr. Von Gilsa's photographs a few times I handed them to Barbara and right away she said "There's your endless long mount."
Sure enough, here we see it being done by Flavio Togni in a practice session with American Circus in Cologne, Germany 1997.
I never would have thought of raising it up on tubs.
Maybe my point is proven tho, how many of you would have realized what this was without being told?
Maybe it's only a trainers trick.

Yes( new to me )his is not only a great looking Trick but a very Appropiate Title - always something Fresh Here ; new format & all .
Why would you not have used this Trick in an Act in a Performance ?

When I did this trick we were still showing outdoors at the Ringling Park and I picked out the right sized elephants I thought was needed. Later they were dispersed among three different herds working at the same time.
My endless long mount elephants were on the ground and when locked into the mount, they made a much tighter circle than this one.
In fact I had "Anna May" on a tub in the center and there wasn't all that much room in there.
When they were all up "Anna May" would do a hind leg stand with Barbara standing on top.
It made a nice picture but like everything else at Circus World it faded away.
Until the elephants got it figured out, a lot of them thought they were supposed to walk and it looked like a giant centipede with different sections moving and expanding.
Now that would really have been something, a walking endless, long mount.

It is unusual. And I don't recall this trick as part of any of Flavio's acts.
I will see Flavio on monday at his circus, so I can ask about...

Flavio did it for the first time in Paris , march 1983; He told me that never has been done before especialy on tubs. What makes big worth to this trick is that he's done by both sides of the mount, the elephnats doing half turn.
