He was later trained to do a boxing number under the name of "John L. Sullivan" but was thereafter simply called "John". He was with the 4-Paw Show thru 1895, then 4Paw-Sells thru 1907, next Ringling Bros. thru 1918 and finally Ringling-Barnum until his death in Sarasota 1/16/32.
