This man is named Wildanov, and this is still one of the most succesful acts of the Russian State Company, Rosgoscyrk. He performed with three horses and five bear. The bears are from the Urals. The act was and is unique, conceived as a pure riding cossack act: that's right, the bears used to do all the standard tricks of the riding cossack acrobats, or of the classical trick riding human repertory (at a moderate speed, of course, but with some fast routines too). In a certain point of the acts, two then three bears used to jump and ride on the same horses. Even if remarkable, I remeber this act as one of the most awful animal presentations I ever saw. Those tricks was totally unnatural for the bears, and none relation was developed between the trainer and the animals. The bears was totally harmless, and I felt them as somehow scared. The conditions backstage was what you expect to see with russian bear trainers. Rosgoscirk proposed me several times to book this act for european TV or festivals, but I always refused.

To all the bear trainers, is this a syrian or a European brown?
I see no leash on the bear and no cage. Would like to see more of this act. Wondering if the bear mounted much like tiger/horse combo's do?
