Mrs. Lenz,
Did you ever work outdoors like this with a British Circus?
If not you missed a great experience!
Especially when showing the Rodeo Grounds in Dry Gulch, Wyoming that provides one 20-Amp Breaker for thirty house trailers.
I remember many a windy matinee with the juggler's hoops being blown away or the catch bar gone when the flyer tries to make his return.
My favorite tho, was when the sidewall would blow up and expose the back yard with some little kid peeing on a trailer tire.
This Show Biz is All Right!

I was very taken with the Gil Gray show--visiting over there brought me to love ballpark lots.

My favorite of the rustic lots is Wolf Point, Montana. It was a dusty little rodeo arena, with 3 or 4 naked light bulbs, one lonely water spigot, and a few old warped planks for seating. They locked up at night by rolling a log across the road.

In recent years touring with the Bentley Bros Circus, showing "No Buses" Nevada , My wife and myself were walking in spec getting a mouthful of sand and feathers being blown off . My wife said " This reminds me of when you stop and visit a show like this and your just so glad that your not working on it !" Never the less, I walked back by the band tent and was helping the musicians try to pick up every one's sheet music which at this time had made it halfway down the track. The announcer ,Mr Russel, was receiving a butt chewing for the high school horse's name was not being pronounced properly. Wonders shall never cease.
