Was Eddie,the son of Hugo and Roman's brother?
Yes, he is. I last saw Eddie two years ago at his home near Sarasota. He no longer does the tiger act, but at that time he had 3 or 4 tigers living in retirement on his property.

This is the remains of the old Guy Gossing act that Eddie bought in 1978. New animals were added over the years.
This photo was taken at CW. Eddie came in after David McMillan's act was removed. David McMillan had the fastest working tigers I've had the pleasure to work around.
Todays Blog. I must say that todays blog was the best yet. So many different people commenting on their memories. It has been most enjoyable. Thanks to you all. And no one hung dirty underware on the guy lines.
So wonderful to come across the blog site. I was training greyhounds in Wheeling WV, many years ago, when I had the opportunity to meet Eddie and Roman Schmitt. Eddie was looking for a veterinarian for two cubs that were born on the road, so I took them to our local greyhound vet. Eddie and Roman performed on Wheeling Island Stadium......a few years later I had the opportunity to visit their farm near Sarasota. Roman had just purchased a rhino and a two small zebras.
I was sorry to hear of Romans passing. They were a very nice family.
