Sarasota Quarters 1956-57 #9


"Tony" and "Josky" in the background. "Josky had the biggest head I ever saw on an Asian female elephant. In her early career she worked in an arena act carrying a tiger.

Josky , dido on big head and trunk. I remember the winter of 68' in Hugo quarters I thought that was the most elephants I had seen at that point. There were three rows of elephants. I remember when I left the barn I was asking what the name of that elephant with the humongous trunk was. Josky I was told, she was an old railroad show elephant from the Rinling Show. I was told to speak up when approaching her as her eye sight was failing. Later on looking at Oscar Christiani's elephants, one of his had a large trunk. It sure made me think of Josky.
