I am the first to admit that the parade has passed me by and it is obvious that if income decreases, cuts must be made but it's the choice of those cuts that baffle me.
Did you ever hear a child say "Daddy! Daddy! take me to the circus, I hear they have wonderful lighting, sound and video this year".

Buckles, I think we on the blog still see the circus through a childs eyes. As it should be. Thats what a circus is all about. I do wish you would not say the parade passed you by. YOU are the PARADE .

Maybe they think the lighting and sound will distract you from the fact that there's very little going on in the rings. A lady with a couple of cats does not replace three rings of teeterboards, three rings of liberty horses, or three rings of dog acts.

That's a good question Barney, since the high tech equipment Barry descibes is more expensive than they acts it replaced.
The last time I saw the show there were enough people at the control panel alone to do at least one good teeter-board act.

Sometimes I act almost as goofy as Beth, I eMail Vienna "It's the show stupid!".

Anonymous, Its called CIRCUS. The lighting is so bright we have to wear heavy makeup. As we never leave our group we do not remove it between shows. Don't you know anything about show business? Why do you think there are hundreds of makeup artist in the business? Why do they win Oscars, etc for makeup? Its a business. We love it. If you don't, don't look. Simple
