Bud, You should have seen TINA Cristiani work elephants. I knew her when she was about 10 years old. Imigine what a surprise when I saw her picture in Playboy Magezine years later. I think we are competeing for the worst spelling on the blog. I'm winning.

Buckles...Lucio pictures the best! Tommy Hanneford, himself a pretty fair rider from a family of experts, always told me that Lucio was as good as it got...Paul Ingrassia

Upon Lucio's passing, I wrote an article for Circus Report, titled "Remembering Lucio". I told of him practicing his back somersault off a stack of baled hay. In 1964, the Beatty show used the Sells & Gray big top for our menagerie top for the big Philadelpia date. Lucio arranged the bales and warmed up for every show. He had a special gleam of delight with every somersault. I was alone in the top observing him, knowing fully well what I was seeing, and when he discovered me, he gave me a bow and I applauded him. He was still somersaulting from one horse to the next in the show. The act tht year was called the Riding Franconis, due a rumored dispute at the time over the Cristiani name. Memories.

Roger, Have you noticed that for two people whos names was never know, we sure have the scoop on a lot of things no one else remembered or saw. Who would have thought these things would bring back memories to share with people who were there. I do not see how we did not run into each other along the way. Being around the same age and knowing the people we knew.
