I saw the Mills Bros Circus in Hammond, IN in May 1962. Jon "before Tarzan" Zerbini was the teenaged lion trainer with his Dad outside the cage. Col. Herriott had a 12 horse liberty act, the camels and llamas, and was also the announcer -- well worth the extra money.
K.Y. Seagraves presented the elephants. When I saw the act in 1963 in Detriot Lee Keener was in charge. I think "Prince K.Y." had the Diano herd. The other act was young couple named Woodcock with three.
Does anyone know what happened to these elephants, specifically Burma & Bunny? My dad was a big CFA member, and did some clowning, I was allowed to ride the elephants in the tent shows during the summer when I was out of school...I loved Burma (Bunny liked to shake her head a lot), would be nice to know if she were still alive. Thank you so much!
In answer to where the Mills elephants went, Circo Union in Mexico purchased them when Mills closed in 1967. I'm assured that they all have passed away by now as they were not young at that time (53 years ago).

Buckles, who's on watch? Gary
I couldn't say but the man in charge was Lee Keener.

Virgil "K.Y." Seagraves left part way through the 1962 season, leaving Lee Keener in charge of the herd.
