Al G. Kelly & Miller Bros. Circus 1943

I have been asked to come up with some early Kelly-Miller pictures.
Man at left is Whitey Thorn but I'm not sure if the stick is aimed at "Tena" or the clown.

The clown. Tena would have grabbed to stick and broke it over his head. It was known to have happened to John Caroll. Wheelbarrols, canes, buckets, etc.

Most aspiring elephant men who have designs on approaching an elephant that is known to knock people down will usually stand in front and study her for a while, unaware that they are being studied.
Then when they approach her and invite her to lie down or whaterever and then get promptly knocked down, they have dealt with a "sucker tough" elephant.
However if you are simply walking by in the general vicinity of an elephant and she goes out of her way to reach out to attack you, you are now dealing with a "tough" elephant.
