King Bros. Circus 1954/ Milton Herriott, Dorothy Herbert and John Herriott

This is the year John and I first met, he and Mary Ruth had just been married at the Shrine Circus in Houston, so we have been close friends for over half a century.
Over the years he has become the official spokesperson for the Sarasota circus people, so much so, that in my final years I grow more concerned about his wellfare than mine because if anything happened to John, who would speak at my funeral?

Having spent a vary sad night, I told myself ' The Blog will brighten this day for me. Was I ever wrong! Morbid to have those thoughts of friends dieing. As at this time of the year my birthday always makes me sad as the years go by so fast and being a February Fish am naturally melencoly[?]2/24. You are 2/26? I wonder who will care for my animals when I die. That is my only concern. I always hug my friends when they leave here as you might never see them again. Make sure you tell them you love them. Where are the clowns when you need them? The day has to get brighter.

Very funny. I have a dear friend in Canada who is a clown also. In more ways then one. Giovanni Iuliani. He is a great listener and gives advise if I want it or not. We have a date to meet in August at Baraboo. He wrote the book about my idol Eloise Berchtold when she got gored and killed by one of her male elephants. He was there. My very best adviser is in Monaco now and makes me see things in a different light. It never hurts to have other opinions. You don't have to take their advise but it is alway welcome. It just struck me funny that both of my best friends are out of the country. Maybe thats why we stay friends.

I have received several eMails suggesting that a cetain circus owner might enjoy making a few statements at my funeral.

Buckles,
Would those comments require the use of a huge video screen so the audience doesn't miss a thing, or would it be all new and First time in America comments?
