Get a load of those prices for tickets. I even remember when 50 cents an hour as the norm for wages. Not on the circus. Just doing WEB for Jenny Walinda paid $50 a week. I did not know they would pay me for doing this. I don't remember getting paid for elephant winter dates for Kelly Miller. I do know DR did not want to hire me as he could get another to work the cage act for half of what he paid me. Thank goodness for me no one was found to present it. I was sure dumb about those things back then. The experience and life style was worth a million and I would not have changed a thing. The lessons were priceless.
Hello Mr. Woodcock. My name is Jon Pult and I am a writer and writing student in New Orleans. I was hoping to contact you in regards to the Elephant "Black Diamond" for an essay I am writing at the University of New Orleans. If you would be willing to talk about that, my email is jonpult@operamail.com.
I doubt that I could add anything that hasn't been hashed over time and again in print. My father handled "Diamond" in the mid 1920's with both the Atterbury Bros. Circus and Monroe Bros. Circus, both being "Overland Shows" meaning he walked from town to town, led by my father on horseback. His behavior at that time was uneventful. There is a book titled "Elephant Tramp" by Byron Fish regarding George "Slim" Lewis who was on the Al G. Barnes Circus in 1929 and was an eye witness to Diamond's demise. Any specific questions you might have I would be glad to answer if I can.
Ed, I've been buying and selling on eBay for several years and have not run across one. I'll keep my eyes open at all times but haven't seen one yet. Bob
Buckles, after writing you about the Lone Ranger poster, I found a great colored picture in my collection of the Lone Ranger on a Barnett Bros. Circus poster. How can I send it to you? Ed Limbach

Thanks Buckles, I appreciate it.
Any idea where a fellow could purchase a Lone Ranger poster?
You might get some reaction from this Blog but if not you might try the CHS Web Site.
