Jack Joyce

As you may have noticed, I have received several messages from Jack Joyce's relatives, two nieces in particular. Today J. Hubbard reminds me that Jack Joyce Sr. had his own Wild West Show as well as making a European tour with Buffalo Bill Cody.
My dad and Jack were good friends but I remember him best from the days we worked together at Ringling Circus World in Florida.

Didn't Jack have a Liberty Act on the first Blue Unit back in 1969.

You are right but I believe it was a house act (Ringling owned).

The things on the camels heads are called plumes. On Big Apple Circus I once saw a crate marked "horse feathers" which we all know is a Marx Brothers movie.

"Horse Feathers" also has another meaning to some.....

Did Ringling have many house acts?

Long ago, I saw paper with a cowboy on a bucking bronco, lettered Jack Joyce. Thinking of the Jack I knew, I wondered why it didn't depict camels. Now I get it--this was about Jack, Sr.

Buckles,

I was writing in regards to my family and any information you may be able to share. My great grandfather is Jack Joyce the American Cowboy who toured much of Europe in the early 1900's, his son is Jack Jr. who worked many years as an animal trainer for Ringling Brothers.

I have researched and found a lot of information on my great uncle Jack, but I am really trying to piece more of my Great Grandfathers life together. My biggest regret is that I didn't find out more from my grandmother when she would share stories with us all. She was very proud of her father and brother, but passed away 11 years ago. She did leave my mother a lot of information and I have also received some from my mom's cousin Jack (Jack Jr's Son).

Thank you for any information you may be able to share and Merry Christmas!

If this account is still active? I just found out that Jack Joyce is my grandfather. He and my grandmother were together in Aarhus Denmark in 1918.
