Lee Bros. Circus 1926/ "Babe" and "Rubber"

This is Arky's entre herd with Lee Bros., the old cow at left is "Rubber" and was actually in the act trained by Strwart Craven in 1882 called the "Forepaugh Dancing Eight" and worked for years by Addie Forepaugh. She was eventually owned by the Ringlings thru 1911 and sold to Wm. P. Hall after the close of the 4-Paw-Sells Show. Before coming to Christy she trouped with such shows as Kit Carson Wild West, Yankee Robinson (Buchanan), Palmer Bros. Circus, Howes Great London (Palmer) and Golden Bros. Circus (Palmer). Buckles

It looks like ARKY is holding up the animals in all his pictures. Like they might fall without his help. He looks very up tight. Most animal trainers look very relaxed. But then again you mentioned he was a performer not a trainer.

I love that picture! Could you please post more elephant pictures. You just can't find such genuine elephant pictures online! Keep posting, i love the site.

I just noticed the horse in the picture. Did not see that ARKY had it on a line. Boy am I slow. I posted earlier that it looked like he was holding up the elephant. Must be a senior moment.

I just saw the horse too. It's so tiny compared to that beautiful elephant.

What type of elephants are they. They look like Asian elephants but I thought they were exstinct. Does anyone know what type of elephants are in his picture?
