Barnum & Bailey/ Harry Mooney and (walkover)

I know you won't believe this but I saw this trick duplicated last winter at the Ken & Nicole rehearsal by a man who leapt repeatedly, backward and forward over a prone tiger. Not only that but he conducted a frantic dialogue over a microphone while doing so.
My first thought was for Mooney "alas had he only realized that the elephant was unnecessary, he could have saved himself a lot of work by simply hopping over the dogs and horses".

Now this is amazing. Never would I have ever thought this could be done. The only thing I can think of to compare is that while doing this walkover with Margaret on Fairyland Circus I got pooped on by her as she had one hind foot over me. Maybe this is why I write a lot about poop. Had a straw house at the night show. People wanted to see that trick again. Animals can sure take you down a notch when you get too proud. I was ever so humbled. Thanks margaret.

Another great picture buckles. I can't beleive a trainer would attempt this trick. Does anyone know if any horses or dogs were hurt in tricks like these? I know that every trick is dangerous but the danger in this trick is ever so clear. Who's the trainer in this picture? What circus did you see duplicate this trick?

I have seen Clyde Beatty perform this trick with African elephants. Clyde Beatty never hurt any animals to my knowledge of his performing days. Harry Mooney is the trainer.

Rebecca, if only that particular Fairyland performance had been filmed, I'm sure it would included on every "stars" video tape ever sold in Circus Report. That's really "taking one for the show." With it, and for it.

Rebecca,

This was a great trick by Beatty. I never seen any other trainer attempt it.

I never understood while very few people find animal tricks entertaining. It should be banned or illegal. Animals have rights to.

I am reporting this site to PETA. Animal cruelty is a federal offense.

Jaybo,

Get lost Jaybo. People like you need to find something better to do with your time than pretend your animals best friend.

You might want to wait on calling PETA, you see they are busy working on a legal defense for two of their employees.

All you can really do is laugh when somebody looks at an almost 90 year old photo and sees it as evidence of an on-going criminal conspiracy. ...Then threatens to report that on-going conspiracy to an organization whose employees have recently been arrested for desposing of the corpses of needless euthanized dogs and cats in dumpsters behind North Carolina shopping malls. Scratching my head I think this must surely be comedy.

Not only that, but the sanctuary in Tenn supports this group and is trying to take our elephants and turn them loose in a field for life. Get a load of that two million dollar barn that she built to jail these elephants that is a death trap. All because she was not good enough to support herself on the circus. This makes my blood boil. After getting peta and other donors to raise this two million, she was never told that she would ever get these wonderful circus animals in the first place. A/Rs sucks.

Now the POOP will really hit the fan.
