On another note, I'd hate to let the day pass with out noting the 80th Anniversary of the passing of Black Diamond, Kenedy Texas October 16, 1929.
I had the impression Diamond was executed in Corsicana. Perhaps her last killing was there, and the show moved to Kenedy for her firing squad. One remembrance has John Ringling wiring, "Kill Diamond in some humane way."
Not being an elephant info expert but if my memory is correct Diamond killed the lady in Corsicana, Texas.
Then was was killed in Kenedy, Texas a few days later.
There is a road side museum in Corsicana and a man got the skull from the Houston Zoo museum and traded them somthing for it. Also he located the exact spot where Diamond was shot and dug up a metal stake also that diamond was tied to.
I want to see this one day when we are up that way.
