Two Queensland cities have now banned circuses on the say so of Animal Liberationists and with no consultation with their voters. Many more are being targeted by the AR people.
Martin Burton, the owner of Zippo's Circus in the UK, credits international people power with helping to overturn bans in that country.
If any of you in the USA could find the time to email the Gold Coast City Council on our behalf it would be a big help.
For the record - there have been NO prosecutions of circuses in Australia for cruelty, neglect or any other animal related matter for over 20 years despite very close scrutiny by the animal welfare groups.
Australia has the strictest circus animal welfare Standards in the world and they are enforceable by law.
These bans are politically motivated.

Anonymous - there is a course of action currently underway which will be made public shortly. We would be very grateful for as many emails of support as we can get for the right of people to choose for themselves whether or not they wish to be entertained by true traditional circuses.
On another note - Weber's Circus in New Zealand were taken to Court by the AR people about the conditions that their sole African elephant is kept in. The circus won the case. I believe that Henry Schroer can add more to this very recent news.
