Tampa's Next Big Event!

MAIL0429, originally uploaded by bucklesw1.

Feld Entertainment's MONSTER JAM is heading to Tampa's Raymond James Stadium.
This will be an all-day family event enabling the kiddies, for a modest fee, to actually ride in one of the huge trucks. Additional concessions will also be made available.
Currently there are several dozen cars involved in the production but like elephants, that number might be reduced to a more practical number.
In the forseeable future, a conservation site for old retired monster trucks is in the planning stages.
GENTLEMEN!..........START YOUR ENGINES!

Gentleman, start your engines.

Last week some kid was killed at one of those monster truck shows? I wonder if it was a Feld show?

For the neophites of Monster Truck Shows, if you take your kids, bring serious ear/hearing protection and stay away if you have asthma! cc

Adeline, the following came back from the Seattle Times.

Another person, involved with the monster truck show being presented, was also killed at Madison, Wisconsin [he walked out into the arena, in front of a truck, which ran over him] and there may have been another death, too. It's the insurance companies, in conjunction with the arenas, which will cause safety issues to come to the forefront, especially when the premiums for a policy get too high with a lot of "deep pockets" lawsuits being filed.

Adaline's original comment/post of the URL in question came back to a "corrected version" of the article which now seems to appear, in full:
