Some pictures of my act with the Barum Elephants 1979/80. Before I arrived on the show the Elephants where hobbled between their legs because the liked to take off on the walk to and from the train. I called it the chain gang and got rid of it right from the beginning. |

Don Foote's creations were pretty distinctive in their greatness. This costume look's like one of those creation's. Did Don do work for Circus Barum or other show's?

Even the footwear matches the wardrobe.
I always use "the shoe review" as a mark for a first-class operation.
Thanks to Buckles and all the Bloggers for sharing their stories and photos -- this is like a "virtual dressing room" where everyone has a tale.
Mike,
It is not an official "Don Foote" with out Capisio(sp) accessories.

Hi Henry
I guess my memory is getting
worse that I thought
Weren't you still on the Red
Show in 79 - 80
And yes Wade "Capezio"
Mel Cabral was the one who
was in charge of getting the
footwear that Don designed
Chic
Actually there were several
shops that made some of the
custom designs of footware

This was just a copy. When I worked for Tihany the costumes looked like Dons Creation's as well and there was matching footwear for every costume.
1979 and 1980 I was in Germany and 1981 and 1982 back with Ringling working the mixed act with the elephants and tigers the first year
and the leopard act the second year. After that I went for two years with Tihany.
Thanks Henry
Some of those years just seem
to blend together
I'm not even sure where I was
or what shows I worked on
79 - 80 I believe I was doing
(and I mean really doing)
the Monte Carlo traveling show
