Cristiani Bros. Route Book 1958 #10

Scan11371, originally uploaded by bucklesw1.

Should be 13 elephants here, 8 from Diano "Tommy", "Mysore", "Calcutta", "Katy", "Tusko", "Betty", "Nackatala" and "Uganda" (the last two Africans) and the Oscar Cristiani Five "Christy", "Carrie", "Babe", "Shirley" and "Emma".
I think Jimmy O'Dell was the Diano elephant man.

I missed all this having spent most of 1958 in Korea but I did see the show in early 1957 when I was in Sarasota with the Ringling Show and again late in 1959 in Tucson, Arizona, we were enroute with Rudy Bros. and unloaded the elephants and camped on their lot. They were just beginning the long tour home to Sarasota.

Anonymous,
Not specifically there are a number of connections. Enlighten us, which one in particular were you referencing?

After seeing the crowd ten deep and more, it didn't take much to forsee the possibilities in staging an "old time" circus parade five years later.
