Meridian, Mississippi Oct.6,1967

Here's a picture I never grow tired of showing.
I got a letter from John telling me he would be showing the Meridian Fair with the Baraboo animals and added that the Beatty Show would be pulling into the Fairgrounds a day or so after the fair closed and he intended to layover and catch the show.
As luck would have it we were jumping from west to east with the Polack Show and Meridian was right on the way.
21 elephants on the Fairgrounds that day 41 years ago when one of Herriott's smart alecky young grooms took this picture.

The photographer did not show what all 3 guys had on there feet. Was it knee waders as it looks like Rev. Rex was holding court and preaching a good line, ha ha.
Wouldn't it be nice to relive those great days of the past.

Johnny and I had just watched the elephant display and as the herd exited the tent Rex took off his tuxedo coat and chatted for a moment.

Buckles,
And I would have given anything to have been there that day. Keep showing it, I for one will never be tired of looking at it.

This photo says it all. The best of the best together. Three icons of the show world cutting up jackpots.

Not to blow smoke but as a kid these were my idols...and still are!
