Regarding yesterdays GSOE people, this is the famous costume designer Miles White visiting Big Apple at Lincoln Center in 1991, flanked by Ernest Albrecht and Barbara.

Miles was a great character and a very sweet person; had a wonderful apartment on NYC's east side which he had lived in for years. In the entry hall was a original portrait of Miles done by Andy Warhol. whenever I went to NYC on business, i always tried to have dinner with him--always had a great time and of course he had wonderful stories--Stashed in his closet were numerous original water color drawings that he had done for GSOE costumes, floats, etc. along with work from his many Broadway shows. a real treasure trove--wonder what happened to them.

Actually, the bulk of Miles White's original drawings and designs were purchased by Howard Tibbals and are now part of the collection at the Ringling Museum of the Circus in Sarasota. Mr Albrecht brokered the deal thinking that the drawings should end up in an appropriate museum collection, which they have. Thank Goodness for that!
