Odds and Ends #3

Scan000010915, originally uploaded by bucklesw1.

Don't have a date on this picture but it was taken in our family room about 15 years ago.
Ben, Patty, Shannon, Ted, Buckles, Chip and Randy, with Ben's daughters Stormy and Skye in front.

By the way, before being deployed to Italy last week, Stormy asked about circuses she and her shipmates could visit while there and the only one I could think of was Americano. Next time we hear from her I'll give her Mr. De Ritis' eMail address.

Where did the great models on the bookshelf come from? Looks like quality work.

You have a keen eye.
The white hippo den and a baggage wagon (not visible)were made by Bill Backsteen.

After WWII, the Backsteins had an amimal show on a small carnival that visited Beloit, WI. My folks and I visited them at that time and the most significiant fact that I remember was that they used the truck after it was unloaded, as their living quarters. My most vivid memory was the cat litter box, which didn't seem to have been cleanded very often. My dad had a cage wagon which I still have that was made by the 1st Backstein. It is still in the collection.
