When we brought the Circus World elephants on the Blue Show there was naturally a lot of conversation and even some grumbling from the old Guarde and justifiably so since since Axel had been there a long time. Barbara and I were upstairs in Kenny's office following our first run thru and we overheard Charley Bauman just outside the door discussing our acts with somebody and he concluded by saying, "That wife of his must be forty years old!" Barbara smiled at Kenny and said,"Tell Charly I'm 44."
