Carol Buckley and "Tarra"

Part of the reason CB is NOT a hero is that her animal management practices contributed to the death of another human being while working with an animal known to have "problems." There's nothing heroic about that.

Seems that CNN's 2008 "Hero" nominations haven't officially started yet. There were 7000 nominees in 2007. CB may have been one of them. There were only 18 finalists. Anyone with even a hint of controversy attached is unlikely to make the finals. Watch the cnn.com website periodically come summer and you'll see a link for nominations for '08.

G'day All,
After reading Buckles request for everyone to try to help put down Carol's nomination, I sent an e-mail with three photos and a double page photo of her and Tara. As it turns out she had seen these photos as well as some videos. I wonder if she knows that she was fired from two Canadian facilities and a Wisconsin Zoo? Not to mention her elephant trampling the owner's son causing a fractured femur after she ran off during a demo at one of the Canadian facilities!

At one time, Carol had a great idea, but then she got the aid of the other peta and slashed and burned all the circus and zoo people she knew and leard from, just for more money from that organiasion!

Thanks for the pictures. I’d actually already seen these and some old film in my research.

I don't know nothing about that trainer and her reputation.
But I don't think I feel confortable in seeing an elephant on roller skates; even in the undeniable surreal aesthetic fascination of such a sight.

My Zoo was going to have to send our elephants to another facility for financial reasons a few years back. Carol Buckley contacted us to offer to buy our elephants enrichment toys and to help us provide for them...until she found out they were staying at our Zoo after all. I contacted her afterwards to ask her if she would still be willing to help us obtain some toys and have yet to receive a reply. Is this how a "hero" for elephants should act? Only help the ones that you are trying to obtain and then forget them if you don't?

first, join in and play the game like everyone else.

second, become dissatisfied with the way the game is played. decide YOUR ideology is the ONLY way things should be done.

third, launch an all out war against the rest of the world because they are inferior.

fourth, develop and nurture paranoid delusions. slander and degrade your contemporaries.

am i the only one who sees the similarities between CB & Adolph Hitler?

let's all hope for the same type of "resolution" to this "problem", eh?

She can't run away from the truth, the truth sticks to her ass like....like....like.....VELCRO! That's it, like VELCRO.

Points well taken and well documented and ain't that the truth.

Isn't it amazing how BUCKLEY-HITLER can bamboozle so many people? Manipulation of the Media is what it is all about.

The media needs controversy in order to thrive and profit...if there is no controversy there is NO PROFIT.

You have a bunch of 26 year old media people grinding up the bits and pieces of distorted facts, lies and allegations and serving it to the American public as "sausage du jour".

Then the American public reacts by solving the problem by throwing MONEY (donations) at the situation that really didn't exist in the first place.
