With a dozen or so cows showing in this photo (RBBB 1941 #10) I sure would like to have seen the hole heard tailed up single file way back when, more recent years seeing the Hawthorn heard in Evensville, 15 big ones and one punk sure reminded me of what I probably would have to say was the most I can remember having seen tailed up single file during the time visiting you in St,Louis Mo.on the trip to the train load up night with RBBB. heard,22 I think? as I recall you had to load up on the off side that night, and on the way you mention you will surly have to re-choreograph the loading of the Africans as they will most likely get confused,I believe one was named Bonny? It all went quite well, some fond memories.
P.S.Jim Alexandra was also tagging along.

"Hagenbeck-Wallace has quite a few tailed up here." Buckles

Buckles,
Someone knew where to be on this great shot. Looks like 30 including males and martingales.
Correct me on this?
Looks like the motorcycle cop got in a little close and got hollered at and the males # 12+13 are squeaking as he zooms off. Cow #8 is now rumbling, #3+4 are thinking about turning and giving out free counseling to the rest of the heard, the number two rider is now yelling back " Not today girls". The number one rider is looking back puzzled and you can sure see why the lead cow is the lead cow.
P.S. Thanks for this shot.

any idea of year or city of this parade shot?

The year is 1934, I think someone identified this as Indianapolis.

There were four males in this herd.
"Prince" had nice matching ivory.
"Tommy" and "Charlie Ed" only had one tusk and "Joe" had no ivory at all.

I know that "Charlie Ed" was named after Ballard's son, any idea about the other males??

Buckles
Tommy and Charlie would that be the Daily shows males name sakes ??

These two males were a generation ahead of the Dailey Show males.
No idea if they were named after anyone.
