The Parachute Jump tower is still standing in 2007. It was relocated to Coney Island from the pre-war New York world's fair. The only equal was a converted structure at Chicago's Riverview Park.
When we were there in the mid 60's, the steeplechase rides were all closed/gone. They used the parachute jump tower for a high hanging strait jacket excape.cc
