From Dave Price

Awhile back there was a lot of chatter on the blog about palms and baseball stitches and so on. I ran across this picture of a well-known showman working on canvas and wearing a palm. I imagine everyone will recognize him even with his head down. He's no Red Foker but he seems to be getting the job done.

Yes indeed, I saw this gentleman at Barry Sloan's Memorial last Sunday and unfortunately he had to endure endless heckling over the fact that he had spent forty years keeping the Beatty Show big top upright only to be blown away, house and all in the recent tornado.

That guy doing the sewing on the big top looks the one the only Johnny Pugh in his younger days.
A true manager and owner that is not afraid of anything as the show must go on.
I have a needle and a plam that Harry Hammond gave me that was used on Clyde Beatty- Cole Bros. circus.
What memories all this brings back.
