Mr Beatty operated a successful Jungle Zoo in Ft Lauderdale in the early 1940s, and pictures of him taken there were used in his press stories for many years. You will see that he started wearing longer pants about this time, though he occasionally still wore jodhpurs and high boots as late as 1953. Next time you pass through Ft Lauderdale, ask the natives to point out Gateway Shopping Center, the site of Clyde Beatty's Jungle Zoo. |
