During Beatty's Cole Bros period (1935-1938) a number of publicity photos were shot at Rochester winterquarters. This one was made in early 1938 shortly before his thirty-fifth birthday. He was at the top of his form and had no reason to know that the season ahead would be his last with Adkins and Terrell, or for that matter with any thirty-car circus.
