Carol Burnett brought her kids for a backstage visit. This is in the early 70's and if I recall correctly, taken at The Forum in Inglewood, California.

Carol Burnett claims in Diane Keaton's book CLOWN PAINTINGS that she was so terrified by a clown at circus performance she attended as a child that she never went back and has been petrified of clowns ever since.

Except here we see that she HAS attended a circus since then and there is videotape to prove that she DID have Emmett Kelly as a guest on her show.

She sat right next to him and sang Send In the Clowns without the slightest hint of terror.

An extremely talented and very funny woman but a lying bag of gas nonetheless...
