Four good elephant tricks/Harry Mooney

Mooney was hired while Barnum & Bailey was making it's European tour (1898-02) and remained with that show until the Ringling-Barnum merger in 1919. He then vanished completely until Don Covington supplied us with the Wirth Circus book and we find that he went to Australia.
Being British he would have had minimal trouble communicating with the locals.

Henry John (or Harry) Mooney was born in 1870 and was the author of a 77-page illustrated book published in 1909 titled “How to Train Your Own Dogs” that mentions his Barnum & Bailey affiliation. As I believe I noted before in a note either to Buckles or on this blog, he was the subject of a Barnum poster featuring his baseball playing elephants.

Wish I had a copy of that book, my dogs pile on top of me and I can hardly watch TV at night.

Buckles, I have two Yorkies. Queenie who is 17 and Cassidi who is 9. Forget about training them. Its a lost cause. You would not believe the things they can get into. Queenie will hide then throw her voice and bark. If you want to find all 7 pounds of her just look in the opposit direction and in the smallest place. Then she gives you that S%^$ grin like she really pulled a fast one. She does this 20 hours a day. She lost her reverse devise and can not back up. I had a ramp for the little ones to get into bed. We don't watch TV. We listen to the police scanner. It has better shows.

Where did Don Covington find out the info as to what became of Harry J. Mooney after the 1918 season?
Is it posted at this or another forum?

I am dismayed over this website. We all know the abuse and suffering circus animals have endured. This site should be taken down. It is disgusting that you think these photos are really something great - they represent horrific suffering to me and anyone involved should receive the same treatment they bestowed.
