"Movin' On" #4


Here they have moved to down town Charlotte to stage a runaway scene. In the foreground Ben is working her, dressed as a cop, while she pushes over planters and a phoney fire plug that shot water upward. They even had her tip over a fruit wagon, it was quite a mess.
For the blow-off tho they had a wrecker tow a burning oil railroad tanker with Anna May behind giving the illusion she was pushing. She therefore saved Charlotte from certain destruction.
I believe they were up there about a week.

This has been know to happen without the movie cameras going. Is this the same Gary that makes comments on the blog?

I'll bet they didn't expect Anna May to be so willing in helping clean up that fruit wagon! At least I sure hope she got some benefits for her work!

Barbara said that it was terribly hot on location while they were there and Mr. Penn asked if there was something special they could get for Anna May. She right away said "Watermelons" and from that time on, there was a large tub of iced watermelons on the set, much to the delight of the cast and crew.
