John Herriott

Johnny trained this act for the Gil Grey Circus in the mid-1950's.
The highlight of this act came when Johnny would stand on the ring curb, facing the animals with a sugar cube clinched firmly in his teeth. A camel would then approach him and take the morsel from his lips. At this moment Jimmy Reynolds would announce to the audience "THE KISS OF DEATH!".

Is this the act that Cindy Wells did on Kelly Miller?. The animals are the same kind of group. She was much prettier.

In case you aren't aware, this is Cindy's father. He trained this 1955 act as well at the act you saw Cindy work recently.

I met Cindy and Laura on Kelly Miller. I introduced myself as a friend of yours. Why do you think I got such special treatment? I also knew you were best friends with John, their father from the trips you two go on. They were very nice to my friend and me. I did not know Cindy had worked for JC along with Roy. For some reason I did not think John was a trainer but an Office Type.

Quite the contrary, in his youth as a frontiersman, he was the only person known to have made Chief Sitting Bull stand up.

I am not going to touch that comment.

I just enlarged this photo and discovered a RAM not a pony in the act. John was quite handsome too. It would sure be something to get you guy in these outfits now. Barbara once told me to make a spashing entrance and a flashy exit and they would not remember the in between.
