Bobby Gibbs, another B.B.C. member, worked Dave Hale's camels and zebra. I think there's a tale about the zebra taking a tour of the grounds during an evening show.

It's a genuine Plains Zebra. Bobby worked the camels after he had sold the mules/Siberian zebras. More important, Bobby on his best day wouldn't have painted a mule this well.
