In February 1962, the Wallendas appeared in Cleveland with the
Al Sirat Grotto Circus only
a few weeks after they had fallen in Detroit.
On Washington’s Birthday, at a matinee performance, I saw three male
members of the act perform a 3-person chair pyramid. Despite the fact that Cleveland Public
Auditorium was crowded to capacity that day, there was dead silence while the
Wallendas were performing.

The Ringling program clip has got to be from Madison Square Garden with the Kimris mentioned to be near the roof top.

Ringling certainly must have had a great feeling for the Wallendas having them next to closing act.

Jackie,
This is NOT from a Ringling program but from the 1962 Cleveland Grotto Circus. That year's performance line-up also included Clyde Beatty, Victor Julian, the Sherman Bros. Hubert Castle, the Gutis Family and Princess Tajana, among others. I was only 16 at the time and too young to really appreciate what a strong show I was seeing.
The Kimris Duo, as I've posted here before, was among the most bone-chilling acts I've witnessed. I was almost relieved when it got around that they were retiring. Then, Bill and Trudy Strong bought the act. I've seen them at the height limits of whatever buildings they showed--60' or 80'. They continued the sensation of the original Kimris, and watching Bill and Trudy was a thrill that made my blood run cold.
