Happy Birthday #1

Chic picked out today's pictures from past appearances on the Blog and cleaned them up in honor of my wife's 79th birthday today.
This one is significant since is graces our tombstone in Hugo, Oklahoma.
Actually we celebrated the occasion yesterday at the Crab Trap down by the new Ringling Headquarters.
Aside from the two carloads of people from here we were joined by John and Mary Ruth, Roy & Cindy and kids, Chic, Kenny Dodd, Jackie LeClaire and Bill Powell.
Liquid refreshments were served.

Wonderful time celebrating Barbarasbirthday. With a great table of fine folks for conversation a cutting up jackpots of our unique circus-showbiz years. Thorouly enjoyed the whole time, plus good food, service and all aspects. Many thanks for being part of it. How can it not be with Kenny, Chic, jackie, Roy and Cindy, Bill Powell, Delilah, shanon and the whole Woodcock families and of course our great hosts, Buckles and Barbara. One of those rare times it all just happens for the enjoyment of all. A great happy birthday La Barbara. MR and Johnny. OLD friends and friendly competitors for over 50 yrs. How about that?

Happy birthday, Barbara. One of the best parts of being with Ringling was the opportunity it gave me to get to know you and Buckles. Have a great day and a great year.

In regards to the burial plot in

Hugo 1 of yesterday's black humor

moments was a retelling by Buckles

of when Barbara asked how they would

get to their final rest he replied

that he would get there on wings of

angels & that she would ride in the

back of Roy's camel truck

Happy Birthday, Ms. Barbara. You are a fine lady and have great children. Seems that when my wife's company just moved their office and they worked with a Shannon from Brighthouse to get their data service set up. Even though it was here in Metro Orlando, it's too much of a coincidence. It was handled very well and it all came off without a hitch. I don't think anybody heard an "All Right" at the end, but your children are a tribute to you and Buckles

Indeed it was such a joyous event for me, and being in the presents of such circus greats, and such exceptionally talented people like Barbara who radiates like the center jewel of a queen's crown. How could anybody not love her. I will never forget how her face and expression suddenly changed into great seriousness and command when she caught a glimpse of the children not behaving as she thought they should be. Needless to say the children caught the glimpse at the same time and all activity changed in a fraction of a second. That was a priceless moment to me. She showed the real mother she is. I loved her even more. Jackie LeClaire

3rd Try--First 2 vanished:

Happy Birthday, Barbara! Never will a birthday diminish the grace, beauty, and charm of our Queen of the Elephant Empresses. We can be thankful that present and future hopefuls for the Center Ring have you as their standard to emulate. Their challenge will be to come near your indelible flash and style. Many happy years ahead for you and Buckles. In friendship, Roger.

BARBARA: Kim Baer has been offline since her move up North over a year ago. I texted her of your birthday, and she quickly asked me to offer her very best to you on your special day. Happy Birthday from Kim.

We had a great get together the day before my birthday at the Crab Trap Restaurant. It was the most fantastic day of my life. I am so lucky to have such wonderful friends and family to come out at such short notice, to help me celebrate my 79th birthday. I couldn't have ask for anything more. And on top of my friends attending, they even gave me beautiful gifts, ( which I did not expect.) One in particular was a lovely elephant scarf. Another was 1978 blue unit programs. ( That I adore.) A disc of "Pippin" that I love.( That was one of the shows that "Chic" took my Grandson "Patrick" to see.)And a delightful addition to our group was a very sweet person, my grandson's girlfriend "Victoria". Good friends good food. What more could one ask??? If I forgot to mention some one or something please forgive me. The only thing that I was missing as far as I was concerned, was the rest of our friends that were too far away to come, but you were in our hearts and minds. Thanks to all....Much love to all.....Barbara......
