This rig was part of Dick Brown's
"Flying Fleet" operated by some of
his crack WQ "security team" led by
a really nice fellow named Vance
Don't remember Vance, but the group he had at Quarters were a bunch of misfits for sure..
Not all of them Gary but I know
what you're talking about
Vance was a short trim fellow who
lived with his family in a mobile
home behind the building on the
East side & was Dick's key man
Chic, did he have a brother that was working there also? I remember Rush,(Dirty Rush), forget the tall guy that drove the van called the War Wagon too? Dick Brown tried to recruit me , but Thank God, JY told him hands off!! On yeah , are you talking about Ty Stofflet that lived in the mobile that cared for Micky the gorilla?
We're likely referring to different
years Gary as I only came down from
NY to Venice for the turnarounds
until I moved to Sarasota in 72
I was then around WQ quite often
through the 81 season & not much
after that except for a few visits
Year was 73? Hugo turned over the herd to Buckles.. Russ not Rush, two bros, one named Kenny? Ty with Micky the gorilla..few others that were like Secret Service kind of guys!!
Yup Gary I remember Russ & Goofy
John (ex military) several (if not
all of them) packed heat whether
or not officially or licensed
