These are the 1955 Cole & Walters elephants "Norma Jean", "Jess" and "Daisy".
Actually the leftovers from the Kelly-Miller herd.
"Jess" was a long time Ringling elephant, imported in1931 and "Daisy" went back to the Gollmar Show and later with Christy Bros,, Russell Bros. , Beatty-Russell, etc.
As mentioned often before, the Polack Show imported three punks in 1949 but sold them before they were trained to Kelly-Miller.
While with Polack, they were named "April", "May", and "June" however my dad renamed April to Hattie (that was her in my recent 1990 Vargas training pictures), May to Anna May and they already had a "Juno" so June became Norma.
Don't know where the "Jean" came from.
If any of you elephant addicts aren't up to speed on this stuff, pay attention!

Maybe we need to put all the names on a flow chart or something to keep up with them.

Thanks for clearing it up. I'll be ready for the test tomorrow.

I'm stealing your quote, Buckles :) This elephant addict is in your debt for the service you provide. Thank you for sharing your knowledge instead of locking it away in a box.
