 The Blue Show was in rehearsal and as a rule should have had access to the elephant barn but Gunther wanted to make his first return visit to Germany and asked me and Axel if he could have the barn during his time away. Axel put up his tent in the area behind the arena while Henry and Gunther set up an old horse tent behind the barn for my 7 young elephants and the rest camped out under the stars in the area seen above, across from Rudy and Sue's chimp truck. On cold nights we would we would move the big elephants into the ring barn and herd them all night.  |

Remember that winter very well when GGW went to Germany.
As we used to have a phone put in our trailer during the break, Gunther used to phone Rudi nearly every night to check that everything was OK.
Also remember you and Barbara had to practice in a makeshift ring outside just across from our parking place in the Venice Winter Quarters, certainly not the best of conditions.

I actually saw snow at Quarters on my windsheild wipers one morning...
