That's my "Hapiness Train" after

retirement from the "Blue Show"

upstaged by one of Irvin's most

colorful neckties

I just realized that if this was

in 1974 the train was still in use

on the "Blue Show" so they must

have borrowed it for the photo op

They did bring it back to CW later

The captions reads "the backyard of the Greatest Show on Earth," was your Happiness Train pulled by an elephant?

Once upon a time at Circus World: A clown in my highest respect had his girlfriend squirrely kid of about 4 years of age style with the clowns for finale, this was a common thing to do. After the show during park parade kids rode in the "Happiness Train" with the performers. My highly regarded clown friend put this kid in the colorful car pulled behind the engine. There was at least five of us in the car plus the kid. The kid jumps out and the car that we all were in ran over his chest. It was a tearful parade for us and anyone behind us because we were certain that the kid was dead, the park was also horrified as the kid was scoped up and sent to the hospital. Lunch, break, and the next show had a solemn shroud above us all. Then in finale this kid shows up to style again with the clowns. This time he had a tire track across his Circus World "T" shirt. Apparently 4 year old kids are very elastic.

This is Another Train , seperate from the one used for " The Day the Circus Comes to Town " , the Main Show that Opened 1976 in the Newly Built , State of the Art , Airconditioned Arena
" the Circus Day Theater " then , as The Park slowly kept expanding & evolving over about 15 Years .

Absolutely right Bud the train

that was built (by others) for

that show was fairly realistic

& had more cars than would fit

to go around the ring so some

were left off & stored along with

other scenic elements that also

didn't fit the theater

That train was self powered &

was a bear (pardon the expression

Jimmy) to handle & had several

serious "incidents"
